Houston Christian High School (HC) is an independent, non-profit, coeducational, private day school which educates students in grades 9-12. HC is accredited by/a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS). HC is also the newest member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), effective November 2011. It is a located in Spring Branch, Houston, Texas, United States,〔"(Schools )" (Map) ((Archive )). In 1998, Northwest Academy (K-12) split into First Baptist Academy and Houston Christian High School. First Baptist Academy moved to a location next to Houston First Baptist Church, and Houston Christian remained at the Northwest Academy site until a new school was built off of Beltway 8 (stretches of Beltway 8 are designated as the Sam Houston Tollway). HC originally occupied a site at 4211 Watonga Boulevard. The British School of Houston opened on the former HC campus in September 2000.〔Baird, Annette.
